With a complex nose of Nashi Pear, citrus blossom, honeysuckle, fresh gingerbread and ripe stonefruit, this is a juicy and generous wine. The elegant and textural palate weight adds richness whilst still maintaining a beautiful balance and clean finish with hints of citrus pith. A wine to be enjoyed with food. Drink now or cellar for up to six years.
92 Points | "This is attractively fruited and elegantly complex on the nose showing apricot, poached pear, olive and mixed spice notes, followed by a beautifully weighted palate offering fleshy texture and juicy acidity. Supple and soothing with textural mouthfeel. At its best: now to 2024." - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90 Points | "Youthful bouquet with aromas of sweet pear and apple, there's a spice and lager beer note, a mineral stony silty note and old flowers and citrus moment. A firm texture with medium+ acidity and fine phenolics engage-the-palate first. Fruit flavours of citrus and white tree fruits come next. The lager note also returns. Youthful still, well made just needing some integration time." - Cameron Douglas MS
89 Points | "Crisp, dry pinot gris with with pear, Granny Smith apple and honeysuckle flavours. The texture has a fine, suede-like grip that helps to promote a bone-dry finish. Needs time to mellow" - Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review
30% of the juice was fermented in stainless steel to capture the clean fruit flavours. 10% was fermented on skins for 3 weeks adding to the colour and spicy complexity of the wine. The remainder was fermented in older oak barrels to broaden the palate and add complexity. Extended lees contact was used to enhance the palate and structure.
